Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the localtunnel.in website, client software, and tunneling service (together, the "Service"), operated by localtunnel.in ("we", "us"). By creating an account, redeeming an invite code, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. The Service

localtunnel.in provides secure tunnels that expose services running on your local machine to the public internet via URLs we assign (for example yourname.localtunnel.in) or domains you connect. The Service is currently in invite-only beta: access requires an invite code, features may change, and availability is not guaranteed during the beta period.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old and provide accurate account information.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your authentication tokens and for all activity on your account and tunnels.
• Invite codes are personal; do not resell or publicly distribute them.
• Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

3. Acceptable use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You agree not to use tunnels to:

• host or distribute malware, phishing pages, or other deceptive content;
• infringe intellectual-property rights or distribute illegal content;
• launch attacks, scans, or denial-of-service traffic against third parties;
• evade network security controls you are not authorized to bypass (e.g., exfiltrating data from an employer's network without permission);
• send spam or operate open relays / open proxies;
• resell the Service or provide tunnels to third parties as a service without our written agreement;
• interfere with or disrupt the Service or other users' tunnels.

We may suspend or terminate tunnels or accounts that violate this policy, and where appropriate report unlawful activity to authorities. To report abuse of a localtunnel.in URL, email [email protected].

4. Your content and traffic

You retain all rights to the applications and content you expose through the Service. You grant us only the limited rights needed to route, cache transiently, and deliver your traffic. You are solely responsible for the content served through your tunnels and for complying with laws that apply to it, including obtaining any consents required from people whose data passes through your applications.

5. Plans, billing and refunds

• During the beta, the Service is provided free of charge. We will give at least 30 days' notice before any billing begins.
• Paid plans, when launched, are billed in advance on a monthly basis and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the paid period.
• Refunds: if you are unsatisfied, contact us within 14 days of a charge for a full refund of that charge.
• Fair-use limits (bandwidth, request rate, concurrent tunnels) apply to all plans as described on the pricing page.

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", especially during beta. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance where practical.

7. Software license

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the localtunnel.in client software solely to access the Service. You may not reverse engineer the Service, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including software, design, and branding, is owned by localtunnel.in and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant no rights to our trademarks.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement; (b) we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill; and (c) our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or ₹5,000 (INR).

10. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law, including content served through your tunnels.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, for extended inactivity, or if required by law. Sections 4, 8, 9, 10, and 12 survive termination.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, subject to any mandatory consumer protections of your place of residence.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or in-product notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
